March 31, 2026 Update Message from Superintendent Dr. Skertich

Kahok Families,
First and foremost, on behalf of our entire school district, we hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Spring Break over the next six days. Be safe, have fun and enjoy the downtime. Students and staff return to school on Tuesday, April 7th.
Kindergarten Enrollment for 2026-27
Next Wednesday, April 8, kindergarten enrollment will begin for the Collinsville High School Class of 2039. Students must be at least five years of age on or before September 1 to be enrolled.
You may complete the process online or in-person, whichever is more suitable for your family. Use this link for information on how you will enroll your child for the coming school year. Also, we ask you to share this information to help us reach families with young children not yet in our district.
Stadium Lighting and Other Upgrades for CHS
If you have driven by Collinsville High School the past few days, you may have noticed a crane at Kahok Stadium. It is installing LED lights that will improve visibility for band, football, soccer and other evening events throughout the school year.
Additionally, as part of our continuing efforts to improve safety in our schools as outlined in the 2024 ballot initiative, the board of education recently approved a bid to replace 13 exterior entry doors at CHS in the weeks ahead. The doors feature thicker steel and improved locks to enhance security.
Importance of Staying the Course in the Final Weeks of the School Year
Spring has arrived, and before we know it, the end of the school year will be here. We have six weeks to go. We need students to stay focused on attendance and behavior to reach their year-end academic and social-emotional goals. Please encourage your child to stay engaged and mindful in the days ahead.
Thank you for your constant dedication to our students. Don’t forget to wear your purple and show your Kahok Pride!
